Michael De-Campo
Michael became an internationally recognised Shintaido instructor in May of 2000 in Haguro Japan while attending the 7th International Shintaido Conference.

" Although I have practiced many disciplines and appreciate all of my background experiences, I am still struck by the effectiveness of Shintaido, even after 23 years of practice. When I practice Shintaido my imagination intensifies and my feeling expands. "

Some of my background:
I began my amazing journey into what I call deep personal development in 1974. From 1976 to 1981, I studied, practiced and taught meditation, macrobiotics, shiatsu, and zen yoga as a founding life member of the East West Centre in Sydney. From 1978 to 1983 I studied, practiced and taught aikido with ki, and co-founded and ran Center for One World in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. From 1981 to 1986 I met and studied under the direction of Alfred Kaufmann, founder of osteopathy in Australia, emeritus professor of theology Stanford university USA. Alfred introduced me to Shintaido in 1982, and from 1984 to the present I have studied, practiced and taught Shintaido along the east coast of Australia. I became an assistant Shintaido instructor in 1987, then gained the next level in 1991 in Japan under the auspices of Hiroyuki Aoki, Haruyoshi Ito and Mitsuru Okada. I am gratefully indebted to these three great founding masters of Shintaido.

Michael has three children, now young adults and lives with his former Shintaido teacher and wife, Vera Costello in Katoomba, Blue Mountains west of Sydney.
